Tave Kosi Me Mish Gengji – Lamb with Yougurt

TAVE KOSI ME MISH GENGJI

Ingredients:

500-600 gm lamb
2-3 tbsp uncooked rice
water
butter
3 eggs
2 large tbspflour
4-5 large tbsp greek yogurt
salt/pepper to taste

Preheat over to 220c.

Arrange the pieces of lamb in an oven proof casserole. Add the rice and salt/pepper. Dot with butter and add about 2-3″ water (see video). Cover with foil and place in oven for about 1 hr. The lamb should be done and rice cooked.

About 15 minutes before lamb and rice are done, whip the eggs and add the flour, continue mixing until lumps are gone. Add the yogurt and mix. Put in a pot and heat the mixture until it’s fairly warm and smooth.

Take the lamb out of the oven and pour the yogurt mixture over it, evening it out. Replace in oven, uncovered, for about another hour

The dish is done when the lamb is nicely roasted and the yogurt/rice mixture firm.
