Bushat – The 75th anniversary of the death of poet, patriot and priest Dom Ndre Mjeda was commemorated in Bushat of Shkodra.

The event, titled ‘Days of Mjeda’, was attended by scholars and personalities from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and the United States of America, who praised the contribution of Mjeda in Albanian national history and culture.

In Kukli parish, where Mjeda served for many years as parson, the restoration of ‘Ndre Mjeda Museum Center’ is completed while the bronze statue of the poet, funded by US Albanian communities, is set.

Tirana – At the invitation of the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, Bujar Nishani, President of the Republic of Albania will hold an official visit to Kosovo on August 30-31. This will be the first state visit of the new Albanian President outside state borders.

Albanian Embassy officials in Kosovo said the invitation of President Jahjaga has been conveyed to President Nishani..

While the full agenda of the visit is not yet public, it is said that in order to honor the Albanian President, apart from meetings with state officials, Kosovo state protocol is preparing a more popular ceremony, which will probably be held in the city of Prizren.

Although investments in Albania have declined somewhat due to European economic strife, Austria and Turkey have doubled theirs and the good news is that Donald Trump is looking to invest in Albania. His company Holding Company Siva Partners will be in Albania in September meeting with Prime Minister Barisha to discuss possible projects geared to tourism!
